Sakai Québec
Sakai-Québec is a non-profit association whose goal is to promote the Sakai online Collaboration and Learning Environment which encourages and enables the development of software and tools for e-learning and online collaboration based on open source code and open standards.
Sakai-Québec is the focal point for the Quebec e-learning community who are interested in pooling their resources in order to collaborate on projects that can leverage and benefit from the efforts of open source developer communities in Québec and throughout the world.
Sakai-Québec has the technical savvy and expertise to meet the needs of our partners’ initiatives and experimentations.
Current projects
Listed below are the activities currently underway and related to the 3 major projects (Francommunauté, Polles et GTES) on which are involved the Sakai-Quebec partners :
- Internationalization mecanisms;
- Translation and adaptation of online services in French and Arab;
- SCORM tool development series for Sakai, such as :
- Authoring software;
- SCORM integration tool for PowerPoint presentations;
- Provide tactical support to the University of Sherbrooke’s pilot project;
- Integration of JForum’s permissions and functions;
- OSP adaptation to a professional business portfolio;
- Provide support to the University of Ottawa’s pilot project encouraging the use of Sakai in student training courses;
- Improvement of Maven 2’s software compiling performance, packaging and display.
